Prolexil Reviews

Dihydrotestosterone, DHT, is what causes hair loss. This hormone increases as men grow older and begins to see hair as an alien agent on the body and attacks it. To prevent hair loss and reverse thinning, you have to lower your DHT levels, which is what Prolexil aims to do.

What They Say

Prolexil has you take a supplement pill each day which strengths your hair and also stops your body from creating as much DHT as it was. By lowering the amount produced, you lower the amount that gets to your hair, so more hair is allowed to grow. The second part of their treatment is a serum that is applied to the scalp and acts as a hair growth stimulant. The main ingredient in the topical serum is Minoxidil, a drug that has won the approval of the FDA. With 5% Minoxidil, (Rogaine only has 2%) Prolexil is out to stop hair loss across the globe.

What We Say

Prolexil intrigues us on one thing: they use green tea and cayenne in their supplement. These are usually found in weight loss supplement, but Prolexil is using their blood circulation properties to aid in hair regrowth. Interesting.

While results may show within a couple of months, the manufacturers recommend use of the product for 4 months. Not only does that seem a little long, but also expensive: 4 months’ of Prolexil can cost between $180 and $240.

Prolexil has the right idea, but its ingredient list runs just about the same as most hair loss products, with the exception of using more Minoxidil and the eyebrow-raising inclusion of green tea and cayenne. While we do want to learn more, we’re not convinced that Prolexil is the best product on the market, simply because it’s similar to so many others. That said, it’s got to be at least as good as any of those.
